President Ilham Aliyev inaugurated Aghjabadi Olympic Sport Complex
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended the inauguration of the Olympic Sport Complex in Aghjabadi district.
The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the complex.
Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov informed President Ilham Aliyev of the conditions created here.
The construction of the complex started in June 2012, and ended this November. All necessary infrastructure has been created at the complex which occupies a total area of five hectares.
The complex features wrestling and judo, boxing, weightlifting gyms, as well as a 937-seat universal sports halls.
The sport complex also includes table tennis and billiard courts, gym and fitness halls, summer cafe, shop, booking office, rooms for supervisors, coaches, and referees, and a number of other rooms.
The complex also houses a 810-seat football stadium, as well as mini football, volleyball pitches and tennis courts.
The Olympic Sport Complex features a 50-seat state-of-the-art hotel.
After touring the complex, President Ilham Aliyev met with representatives of the district's general public and local athletes, and posed for photographs together with them.
